Shares of China Mobile (NYSE: CHL) fell 3% on Thursday after it failed to follow up its solid year-end report with a meaningful dividend boost. For fiscal 2016, revenue at China’s largest telecom company rose 6% annually to 708.4 billion yuan ($102.8 billion), as telecom services revenue climbed 6.7% to 623.4 billion yuan ($90.4 billion) — a five-year high.

American Airlines Group (NASDAQ: AAL) is apparently making a concentrated play for a chunk of its Asian peer, China Southern Airlines (NYSE: ZNH). According to a report from Bloomberg, citing “people familiar with the matter,” the big U.S. carrier is in “advanced talks” to acquire roughly $200 million worth of China Southern’s Hong Kong-listed shares.
